Today is the beginning of National Preparedness Month, which serves as a reminder that we all must take action to prepare for health emergencies. APHA’s Get Ready campaign challenges you to celebrate with us.

Actually, Pepper the Prepper Cat is challenging you — to show your preparedness colors. Here’s how:

  • First, download our coloring book to follow Pepper as she gets ready for disasters and makes her way through floods, mosquitoes, crowds and other potential health threats.
  • Second, pick your favorite (or favorites), add your artistic flair and snap a photo.
  • Finally, email your photo to getreadycontest@apha.org by Get Ready Day, Sept. 20, at midnight ET.

Check it out! And check out APHA’s Get Ready campaign to prepare yourself, your family and your communities for all disasters and hazards, including pandemic flu, infectious disease, natural disasters and other emergencies.
