In a call to action on the addiction epidemic in the U.S., “Facing Addiction in America: The Surgeon General’s Report on Alcohol, Drugs and Health” highlights what U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, MD, MBA, labels “a moral test for America.”

Released on Nov. 17, the report outlines how addiction, also known as substance use disorder, affects millions of people in the U.S. each year. Unfortunately, only 1 in 10 people get treatment.
