Public health nerds, get ready for a week of — well — nerdiness.

Each day during National Public Health Week  the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s “Public Health Nerd” campaign will geek out with a new graphic, which will match each of the week’s daily themes. These daily graphics can be seen at CDC, APHA and can be shared on your Web pages or social networks.

“I support CDC’s Public Health Nerd campaign because, as a nerd,  I think National Public Health Week is about bringing communities together to make us all healthier,” said Georges Benjamin, MD, executive director of APHA. “These graphics help the public understand public health during this critically important week.”

Today’s image pays homage to Monday’s theme, “Be healthy from the start,” supporting the health benefits of breastfeeding.

“Those of us who work in public health have the shared responsibility of communicating information to save and improve lives of Americans,” said CDC Deputy Director Judith A. Monroe, MD. “CDC’s Public Health Nerd campaign and APHA’s National Public Health Week achieve this objective by increasing awareness about health issues, which helps Americans make informed health care choices.”
