Wouldn’t it be nice to talk about public health with leaders, advocates, students, businesses and just about anyone who’s eager to learn more about improving our nation’s health…all at the same time? We thought so too!
Today, APHA will host its fourth annual National Public Health Week Twitter chat. With this year’s theme, “Public Health: Start Here,” there’s no better way to begin engaging with public health than to start talking. Join the chat from 2-3 p.m. EDT today as @NPHW introduces a range of topics, including child health, prevention, emergency preparedness and healthy workplaces.
This year’s chat will include a diverse group of participants, including the U.S. surgeon general’s office (@Surgeon_General), CDC Director Tom Frieden (@DrFriedenCDC) and Richard Besser (@DrRichardBesser), ABC News’ chief medical editor. Businesses such as Aetna (@Aetna) and Snap Fitness (@snapfitness) will also join the chat, along with federal agencies and national media outlets.
During the chat, we’ll encourage participants to think creatively about new ways that public health can engage and lead us to the healthiest nation in one generation. It’s not too late to get involved in today’s conversation. Follow @NPHW and RSVP via our Twtvite invitation. Tweet using the hashtag, #NPHWchat, and join the meeting of the public health minds.
