CDC discusses ‘unequal’ secondhand smoke risks in Facebook chat

One in four nonsmokers, or 58 million Americans, is exposed to secondhand smoke. Last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention hosted a Facebook chat on its "unequal" dangers, led by Brian King, senior scientific advisor for epidemiology in CDC’s Office on Smoking and Health.

Study: Workplace risk of secondhand smoke declines, disparities remain

The Massachusetts Smoke-Free Workplace Law passed in 2004 required all enclosed work places be smoke free. But while exposure to secondhand smoke decreased from 2003 to 2010 — from 8 percent to 5.4 percent — certain work groups still experience a high prevalence.
